How to solve the "can't save hi-res images in Google Earth Pro" problem

Google Earth Pro comes handy when you need to use hi-res images for your cartographic work with GIS software. The only thing to do usually is File->Save=>Save Image and at the pane it appears you just  choose the elements and features to be included into the image and the resolution you want.
However, sometimes the whole process stalls with progress bar at 0%.
Here is the solution :
1. Make sure that the boundaries of the image you want to save are large enough (say covers at least 1 Km radius around the area of interest)
2. Go to Tools->Preferences in the first panel switch between DirectX and OpenGL radio button.
This will do the trick 95% in of the cases...
Happy georeferencing!
